A man was apprehended for allegedly stealing a woman’s handbag during a Mass service at St Gregory Parish in Iyiowa Odekpe, Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State. The incident was disclosed by one Egbuaba Ifeaoma in a Facebook post on Monday, December 4, 2023. She cautioned people to be vigilant as thieves now target worshippers in churches.
According to Ifeaoma, the young man was caught last Sunday at St Gregory Parish. The victim had left her handbag on her seat while giving an offering during the early morning Mass. Upon her return, she discovered the bag was missing. The woman raised an alarm, prompting church members to search for the thief. Despite attempting to flee, the robber was found and apprehended. Ifeaoma emphasized the need to say no to stealing and warned about the growing trend of thieves targeting churchgoers.
